Eaglettes Play With Heavy Heart
CHESTER COUNTY, Tenn — The Chester County Eaglettes were back on the field after winning their district championship Friday. Playing not only for themselves, but long time coach, Doyle Murphy.
Murphy was diagnosed with cancer, and in his honor the girls have dedicated their season to him and wear ribbons to show their support. Murphy has been apart of Chester County athletics since the late 80’s.
Head coach, Brandon Pipkin said, there’s not a bigger fan of Chester County athletics than Murphy, and words can’t describe how much he means to our program and girls.”
The Eaglettes were able to defeat the Milan Bulldogs 3-2 with Murphy in attendance, an emotional day, Pipkin said.
The team will advance to play Dyersburg Wednesday afternoon.
