Pascagoula man on trial for alleged sex crimes against minor

PASCAGOULA, Miss. (AP) – Jury selection is underway in the sex crimes case against a Pascagoula man.

The Sun Herald reports a Jackson County grand jury indicted David Epps on 11 counts of sexual battery and eight counts of touching of a child for lustful purposes in an indictment returned last year.

However, he is being tried on four counts of sexual battery and three counts of touching of a child for lustful purposes. Circuit Judge Kathy King Jackson is presiding over the case. Jury selection continues on Tuesday.

Epps is accused of engaging in sex acts with a minor under the age of 14 at different times between August 2011 and April 2012.
