30th annual ‘A Taste of Jackson’ is right around the corner

JACKSON, Tenn. — Jackson’s longest-running taste test that brings out hundreds from all over West Tennessee for a great cause is right around the corner.

30th Taste of JacksonThursday night, the Farmers Market will transform to serve hundreds at A Taste of Jackson and West Tennessee for the event’s 30th year.

Local favorites like Redbone’s Grill and Bar, Coyote Blues, Rock’n Dough Pizza and West Alley BBQ will participate in the 30th A Taste of Jackson.

“We have 20 restaurants this year,” said A Taste of Jackson chair, Molly Richardson. “Come out here you can eat as much as you want all night long. Drink have a great time, there will be live music.”

Proceeds from the annual fundraiser go to support the March of Dimes, a group that helps educate mothers of children born prematurely or with birth defects.

“It’s a community event,” Richardson said. “It brings people from all over Jackson, all over West Tennessee together. It’s just a great way to support our local vendors, local retail, local restaurants and at the same time help the March of Dimes and help babies.”

In support of the March of Dimes, footprints outside local Regions banks represent more than 600 premature babies born in Jackson last year.

“That’s a huge number, and the March of Dimes, by raising money with events like the A Taste of Jackson, can help with that number and help decrease that number,” Richardson said.

Tickets for A Taste of Jackson and West Tennessee are $40 or $25 for groups larger than 10 people. In the past, the A Taste of Jackson has raised more than $35,000 for the March of Dimes.

A Taste of Jackson kicks off at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Farmers Market in downtown Jackson.
