Police investigate attempted robbery at Dollar General

JACKSON, Tenn. — Jackson police rushed to the Dollar General on Campbell Street in east Jackson, around 9:50 p.m. Wednesday.

According to police, a person came in and tried to rob the store but was unsuccessful.  Investigators describe the suspect as a black man with a light to medium complexion and a heavy build.  Witnesses said he was wearing a gray hoodie and jeans with a blue mask over his face.  Police said it did not appear he had a weapon.

The suspect was last seen running toward the Sweet Bay area.
