UT President Joe DiPietro visits Kiwanis Club of Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn. — Four hours from his home in Knoxville, University of Tennessee President Joe DiPietro stopped in Jackson on Thursday.

Joe DiPietro speaks at Kiwanis ClubLeading East Tennessee’s biggest university, DiPietro spoke to Jackson’s Kiwanis Club, a group of volunteers dedicated to improving the Hub City and the state of Tennessee.

The former chancellor of the UT Agriculture Institute talked about UT’s mission and how each of Tennessee’s 95 counties plays a part.

“The University of Tennessee connects with every county in the state including this wonderful research education center here in Jackson, so it’s important to be connected to the people,” DiPietro said.

DePietro is the 25th president to serve the UT system. He took office in 2011.
