Board members start search for new Adams Co. school chief
NATCHEZ, Miss. (AP) – Some members of the Natchez-Adams County School District Board of Trustees believe discussions need to start soon on the selection of a new superintendent.
Board President Amos James tells The Natchez Democrat that the trustees have been concentrating on the transition of Interim Superintendent Fred Butcher. Butcher was hired in April to replace former Superintendent Frederick Hill, who was fired in April.
James also cited other matters that he said have taken priority, including the district being short 60 staff members.
Still, board members Phillip West, Cynthia Smith and Benny Wright say hiring a superintendent should be a topic for a board meeting in the near future.
