New Search Planned for Missing Henry Co. Woman

HENRY CO. Tenn.- A missing person’s case out of Henry County is getting a fresh pair of eyes. Southeast K9 search and rescue along with a class of college criminology students will be in West Tennessee this weekend to search for Rachel Conger. She has not been seen in five years. Conger’s mother, Louise Younger, says after half a decade she has not lost hope. “I’m a Christian,” said Younger. “I believe in God and that’s the only thing that has gotten me through.” Conger went missing from her home in Como on March 13, 2008. She was last seen getting into a truck with her estranged husband. He was found three days later dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Investigators believe she was a victim of foul play, but they have never found her body. Younger hopes this new search will be different, “It would be like giving me the most expensive resent in the world, and if they don’t find her, that’s okay I’ll still have hope,” she added. Conger’s daughter, Amber Simmons, was 13-years-old when she disappeared and has since moved out of town. By phone, Thursday night, she said she is thankful for the new search team. “All of it means so much to me. I just don’t even know how to express it,” said Simmons. Southeast K9 says they are not looking for volunteers in this search. The group will host more searches in the future if Conger is not found.
