Update: Troopers say tractor-trailer left scene of I-40 crash

NORTH JACKSON — A Wednesday afternoon crash involving two tractor-trailers and an SUV stops traffic on Interstate 40 in north Jackson.

I-40 wreckThe three-vehicle wreck occurred around 4:18 p.m. near mile marker 87 in the westbound lanes.

According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol, a tractor-trailer involved in the crash is believed to have fled the scene and was last seen heading westbound toward Memphis.

The truck that left may have damage to the right side, according to the THP.

According to officers on scene, one of the tractor-trailers and a Dodge Durango SUV collided while merging onto I-40 from Exit 87.

There were two victims in the SUV, and both were transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries, according to troopers.
