Ryan Rolison Challenge

JACKSON, Tenn — Ryan Rolison has been one of the best baseball players in all of Tennessee in 2016. I asked Rolison when other colleges realized how good he was.

“The start of my junior season, I grew probably three more inches and my velocity went from probably 85, 86 to 89 to 90,” Rolison said.

Rolison received his first offer his sophomore year from Ole Miss. He has now signed. I asked why Ole Miss?
“Well that was my dream to play in the SEC, you know I was going to stick to my dream,” said Rolison.  “You know for it to come true is just an awesome feeling.”

He’s going from one of the top pitchers to just another player on the roster at Ole Miss, but he knows what he has to do.

Rolison said, “You got to keep your head level, You know at that next level, there’s a lot of competition there and you’re just going to have to keep your head on straight and just try to outwork the person that’s trying to get your job.”

As playing in the SEC was always a dream, he’s had others. One being able to play in the big leagues.

“Absolutely, that’s any baseball players dream, you know for this actually to be a situation that could happen, is really unreal,” Rolison said.  “You know I watched it last year and was like man, I wish I could be in those shoes and to actually be in this situation now is very humbling and just awesome.”

Rolison has not made his decision to go pro or go to college, but he will do so, sometime next week.
