Pearl Police probe possible road rage after man shot on I-20

PEARL, Miss. (AP) – Rankin County authorities are searching for two suspects involved in an accident on Interstate 20 where one man was shot.

WLBT-TV reports Rankin County Undersheriff Raymond Duke says the unidentified motorist was shot in the head, above the eye. His condition was not immediately available, but Duke says he was able to give investigators information.

Pearl Police Capt. Brian McGairty says they’re looking for a Gold/metallic colored 2001 Chevrolet Silverado Extended Cab pickup truck, with license plate number PU2743 – a Pearl River County tag. McGairty says the truck is occupied by two white males, who are considered armed and dangerous.

The incident apparently began in the eastbound lane at the Airport Road Exit.

Duke says the shooting, “Is a case of road rage gone really bad.”
