Kroger gets ready for wine sales ahead of July 1 law change
JACKSON, Tenn. — Kroger says all of its Jackson stores will be stocked with wine and ready for sales when the law changes July 1.
Staff members were busy stocking the new merchandise Thursday at the location on West University Parkway.
Kroger says more than 1,300 selections will be available in the stores.
And if you’re unsure which wine pairs best with which foods, most stores will have someone on hand to help.
“We will have wine near our cheese. We will have wine in different parts of the store so that our customers can say, ‘hey, I can choose this wine with a steak,’ and we’ll have a wine consultant in the store,” said Teresa Dickerson, community affairs and PR specialist with Kroger.
Kroger says wines will range in price from top shelf to budget friendly and that they’ll have 80 exclusive brands in store, similar to a house brand.
