General Cable in Jackson to add 50 jobs
JACKSON, Tenn. — A local manufacturer is set to add about 50 jobs at their Jackson plant.
General Cable, a wire and cable manufacturer, is expanding production, company officials and the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development announced Friday.
The company will invest $3.7 million and create an estimated 51 jobs in Jackson for its data communication cable business, according to a release from the state.
“The skills of General Cable’s Jackson team and their solid performance were major factors as we considered our options to support our data communications business,” Mark Thackeray, General Cable’s senior vice president of global manufacturing and North American operations, said in the release.
