Weather Update – 10:45 p.m. Wednesday

Scattered showers and thunderstorms will gradually come to an end this evening as we lose the energy from daytime heating. Skies will be cloudy during the early evening but become clearer by Thursday morning as temperatures drop to the lower and middle 70s. The heat index is likely going to be in the 100s again with a possibility for parts of West Tennessee to be under a heat advisory once more. Cooler weather with a little bit of relief is forecast for the weekend.

THURSDAY
Another dangerously hot day is forecast for Thursday with high temperatures in the middle to upper 90s tomorrow. Humidity will make temperatures feel like they’re over 100°F again so expect another heat advisory to be issued for portions of the Mid-South. Conditions will be mainly dry with sunny skies tomorrow but there’s another chance for scattered showers and thunderstorms Thursday night into very early Friday morning as a cold front moves in.

FRIDAY AND THE WEEKEND
Scattered showers and thunderstorms will be possible in southwest Tennessee on Friday morning and afternoon but we’re expecting it to become drier by the evening. In fact, less humidity and slightly cooler temperatures are forecast for the weekend with mostly sunny skies. Stay with the VIPIR 7 Storm Team for the very latest updates to this forecast.
