West Tennessean honored with national Crime Stoppers award

JACKSON, Tenn. — A big honor was presented Friday to a member of the Jackson-Madison County Crime Stoppers board of directors.

Frank Boyd was honored with the prestigious Crime Stoppers USA Award.

The honor even brought the chairman of the national Crime Stoppers organization to Jackson for Friday’s presentation.

Boyd has been on the board for 20 years and served as president for a decade. He talked to WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News about why he thinks he received the honor.

“By joining Crime Stoppers and helping raising money and build two chapters for them,” Boyd said.

“This is probably the second time in the history of Crime Stoppers — and we’ve been around 40 years — that I’m aware of that we’ve done something like this,” said John Lamb, chairman of  Crime Stoppers USA.

Boyd has also served on the National Crime Stoppers board of directors.
