Weather Update: 9:30 PM Monday
It’s been a hot and humid afternoon even with temps a bit lower than they have been the last few days. Currently temps are sitting in the upper 70s to low 80s. There are just two small sprinkle pockets still in Obion county and in Hardeman county but other than those two signatures on VIPIR 7 Radar, we aren’t dealing with much precipitation right now.
Tonight we’ll stay warm and muggy with overnight lows sticking in the low 70s. Partly cloudy skies too as the frontal system stalls to our north.
Tuesday the stalling warm front will bring the chance for showers and thunderstorms to West Tennessee. The best areas to see a strong thunderstorm, will be the northeast. The majority of the area is not under any risk for severe activity but we could see a strong thunderstorm during the afternoon hours.
The chance for rain drops for Wednesday as the stalling front lifts back to the north before shifting east. We could see an isolated shower but we aren’t looking at widespread activity.
The second half of the week will be dealing with another cold front stalling out north of Tennessee Thursday night into Friday. That keeps the chance for rain in the area but it will be a low chance for more shower activity as we head into the weekend.
