Chester Co. theater program gets started on ‘Lion King’ production
CHESTER COUNTY, Tenn. — Kids are feeling the Hakuna Matata this summer in Chester County.
A theater camp started Monday morning for third to eighth graders. Campers started rehearsing and studying lines for the Lion King kids performance.
Before the kids were chosen, each one had to audition by singing a song and reading through scripts.
“So once I realized there was a need for this in the middle school area, I thought this is going to be a wonderful idea,” camp director Becky Hartle said.
The performance will be on June 28 at Lloyd Theater on Freed-Hardeman’s campus.
Organizers say ticket sales from the performance are going to the elementary fine arts department at Chester County.
