Brownsville voters pass wine in grocery stores referendum, elect aldermen

BROWNSVILLE, Tenn. — Voters in the City of Brownsville went to the polls Tuesday, electing aldermen and letting their voices be heard on whether grocery stores in the city can sell wine.

These are results provided by the Haywood County Election Commission, late Tuesday:

Alderman, Ward 1:
62%  Leon King (I)
38% Samuel Starks (I)

Alderman, Ward 3:
75% John Simmons (I)
25% O.G. Stewart Jr. (I)

63%  For
37% Against
