‘Country Music Lends Down a Hand’ benefit concert draws large crowd
JACKSON, Tenn. — A crowd of more than a thousand packed the amphitheater Wednesday evening at Casey Jones Village. They came not only to hear local artists but to show support for the Down Syndrome Association of West Tennessee.
When the gates opened at five, the crowd began flooding in. When the concert started at 6 p.m., it was children who overshadowed the stars.
Kids with Downs who participated in Camp Imaginarium took the stage to start the night. They performed songs they had learned with the country singers.
Singers and songwriters participating in the fourth annual “Country Music Lends Down a Hand” fundraiser included Bryan Moffit, Eric Lee Beddingfield, Ash Bowers and the Kimberlie Helton Band.
The event was hosted by the Down Syndrome Association of West Tennessee.
