Farm to Fork dinner hosted at West Tennessee Farmer’s Market
JACKSON, Tenn. — Dining and entertainment were on the menu at the West Tennessee Farmer’s Market, Thursday evening.
Dozens attended the “Farm to Fork” event, which highlighted local farmers and agriculture. Attendees enjoyed a number of locally-inspired dishes, including fried green tomatoes, cold corn soup and peaches and pudding.
Barry Nabours, who created the meal, said events like this is a great way to support agriculture programs like the one at Liberty Technology Magnet High School. “I’d love to see them grow the program to just one school,” said Nabours.
Liberty has an extensive agriculture program that teaches everything from growing to selling produce. Students provide food not only for their school but for other cafeterias throughout the district.
