HUNTINGDON, Tenn. — Hundreds packed the Carroll County Civic Center for the 17th Annual Carroll South Relay for Life, Friday.

The teams and individuals all were there to raise money for the American Cancer Society and it’s cancer research, advocacy and patient services.

Community members walked through the night to show support, especially for loved ones who can’t make the walk on their own.

“The reason I like to relay is because I have so many family members who have been touched by this horrendous disease,” said participant Johnney Beth Nolen.  “I’m here to fight it.”

The very special luminaria lighting was held at 9 p.m., followed by a 5k fun run and walk through the lighted path.
