Bear strolled through downtown Vicksburg
VICKSBURG, Miss. (AP) – Vicksburg and Warren County authorities are asking residents in downtown Vicksburg and those around the Vicksburg National Military Park to be aware of a bear.
Authorities say the bear was spotted Sunday morning.
Police Chief Walter Armstrong tells The Vicksburg Post the bear does not appear to be aggressive and he doesn’t appear to be in any kind of a hurry. Armstrong said the bear seems to be out on a stroll.
Officials have urged residents to not approach the bear, but if you see it, you are asked to leave the bear alone, move indoors and call 911.
