Gulfport housekeeper accused of theft of jewelry

GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) – Harrison County sheriff’s deputies say a 29-year-old Gulfport woman has been arrested for taking a homeowner’s jewelry while she was working as a housekeeper.

Harrison County Sheriff Troy Peterson tells The Sun Herald Roxanna Renee Griffin was arrested Wednesday on a charge of grand larceny.

Peterson said Griffin had stolen several rings from a home where she was working. He said Griffin pawned the rings and they were later located at a South Mississippi pawn shop.

Griffin was taken to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center. Her bond was set at $10,000 by Judge Brad Ladner.

Online jail records do not list an attorney for Griffin.
