Man pleads guilty to killing 4 people in Crab Orchard

CROSSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – A man accused of killing three teens and a young mother during a botched drug deal has pleaded guilty to four counts of felony murder.

Media outlets report that 29-year-old Jacob Allen Bennett was charged in the September 2013 shooting deaths of 22-year-old Rikki Jacobsen, 17-year-old Dominic Davis, 17-year-old Steven Presley and 16-year-old John Lajeunesse in Crab Orchard.

On Wednesday, Bennett pleaded guilty to four counts of felony murder and two counts of attempted robbery. He received four consecutive life sentences without the possibility of parole as part of a plea deal.

District Attorney General Bryant Dunaway says officials decided not to seek the death penalty after discussions with the victims’ families.

Bennett’s girlfriend, 27-year-old Brittany Moser, is also charged in the killings. Her trial date has not been set.
