Fireworks At Jackson Generals Ballpark
JACKSON, Tenn — What better way to celebrate the 4th of July than with fireworks.
Tonight the Jackson Generals celebrated Independence Day early with a 4th of July themed set of fireworks.
“The schedule fell where we could actually shoot fireworks on Saturday and Sunday and then leave the explosions out at the airport on Monday.” Ballpark General Manager Jason Compton.
This year the stadium will host two straight nights of fireworks something he says the community can enjoy.
“Come out and watch really good baseball with their families, then see a good fireworks show maybe come out again tomorrow night. Everybody loves fireworks.” Compton said.
Setting up an event like this is not easy either.
“These aren’t sparklers or bottle rockets. These are commercial grade professional shows that are put on.”
Lance Stewart with Pyro Show Fireworks says it take up to five hours to set up but it’s something he enjoys doing.
“The rush of setting them off, being back here and feeling those explosions.” Stewart said.
He wants people to be safe this holiday season when handling fireworks on their own.
“Just make sure you take the precautions and make sure where you are shooting from is safe and the bottom is mantled down so it doesn’t fall over and shoot toward anybody.” Stewart said.
From baseball to food, Stadium General Manager says it’s a recipe for a perfect time.
“We just kind of combine Americas past time of great baseball, food here at the ballpark and fireworks to celebrate independence day.” Compton said.
