City of Selmer hosts ‘Freedom Festival’
McNAIRY COUNTY, Tenn. — The city of Selmer hosted their annual Freedom Festival in the city park to celebrate the Fourth of July.
Festivities began Monday with a free kids parade in the park, giving kids the chance to show their patriotic colors.
“It’s for our community and it’s also to show remembrance and honor for those that have given us this free country to live in,” Parks & Recreation Director Sybil Dancer said.
Live music from local acts will carry the fun until Monday night just before the “big finale” takes place —a fireworks show set to begin around sundown.
