Woman again charged with DUI-child endangerment
HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) – A 34-year-old Hattiesburg woman charged in a 2009 DUI death of a toddler will be returned to the custody of the Mississippi Department of Corrections after being charged with four DUI-related offenses.
The Hattiesburg American reports Darlena Mickel made her initial court appearance Tuesday in Hattiesburg Municipal Court. Bond was set at $100,000 for DUI-negligence of driver results in death or disfigurement.
Mickel also was charged with two counts of DUI-child endangerment and DUI-first offense for allegedly driving under the influence while involved in a wreck.
Hattiesburg police spokesman Lt. Jon Traxler said a two-vehicle incident occurred around 12:30 p.m. Saturday. Traxler says a child was injured in the wreck and is listed in critical condition.
Online jail records do not list an attorney for Mickel.
