Newly appointed Dept. of Corrections commissioner visits West Tenn.
JACKSON, Tenn. — Tennessee’s newest head of corrections took a tour Wednesday around West Tennessee.
Newly appointed Commissioner Tony Parker toured the Jackson Board of Probation and Parole, meeting local representatives about the work he now represents.
Parker talked about the work ahead of the 6,400 department employees across the state.
“They have a hard job, a difficult job, but they do a great job, and we appreciate that and we want to get out and tell these people we appreciate them,” Commissioner Parker said.
Parker was appointed as commissioner last month. He has served with the department for over 30 years.
