Workout Wednesday in a pool

JACKSON, Tenn — This weeks Workout Wednesday, we went back in doors with the heat coming upon us. A pool!

The pool workout can be done inside or outside for those who don’t have access to an indoor pool. This can be also done by people of all ages, even with disabilities.

Fitness Instructor at the Lift Wellness Center, Kathy Guthrie said people who don’t like working out should jump in a pool and they’ll soon fall in love.

“With water you don’t have the strain and the stress on your joints on muscles, bones that you do when you’re out on land,” said Guthrie. “For instance, some people maybe couldn’t go out and run three miles on land, could be able to run possibly a lot longer in the water than they ever would be able too on land.”

Guthrie put her class through exercises like bicep curls, triceps extensions and leg lifts. All these exercises you are going against the water, so it’s guaranteed to give you the burn like you would if you were lifting weights in a gym.
