Carey wanted to play under Goff

JACKSON, Tenn — Last week word got out that the former USJ Bruin, Logan Carey would not be attending Louisiana Tech. Instead Carey chose to follow former Jackson native, Greg Goff, who recently accepted the head coaching position with the Alabama Crimson Tide.

Carey who had a monstrous senior season, hit over .500 on the year. He said he always dreamed of playing in the SEC, but his first dream was to play under coach Goff because he would push him to be the best player he could be.

Carey found his love for the game young, thanks to his Dad. He said, his Dad taught him everything he knows about the sport and has helped him become the player he is today.

As far as switching from Tech to the Crimson Tide, that was easy.

“It was like a no brainier because the SEC, it’s every kid growing up their dream to play in the SEC or a power conferences,” Carey said.  “So it was my dream growing up, whenever he went there I knew that he was the man I wanted to play for.”

Now Carey will get to go up against his long time friend Ryan Rolison who will play for Ole Miss next season, the two have been teammates since they were eight years old.
