Church Shows Support For Police

JACKSON, Tenn — A Jackson church paints a picture of love in their community one hand at a time Sunday.

“We believe that all lives matter and we want to show that support that we’re not a church for white people, we’re a church for everybody.” Operational Pastor Austin Coleman said.

This comes after the tragedy in Dallas killed five police officers.

The SoulQuest Church  in Jackson wanted to come together not just to show solidarity to the local police department, but police officers all over the country.

The tragedy inspired the church to spread love by modeling an old children’s song “Jesus Loves The Little Children”.

Worshipers were greeted with hand painting stations Sunday with the colors red, yellow black and white. They added blue to show support for police officers.

“This morning we were showing, symbolically showing that we love everybody.” Coleman said.

That love continued with a special prayer at the beginning of the church service.

“The pain that we’re feeling right now is not going to be healed by political reasoning, it is not going to be healed by rhetoric, it’s going to be healed by love and action.” Coleman said.

The church even offered a special message to the community.

“No matter whether you are Black, White, Hispanic, whatever nationality you are Jesus loves you and SoulQuest loves you.”
