Sheriff: Hancock Co. law enforcement fundraiser is a scam
BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. (AP) – The Hancock County Sheriff’s Department has issued a warning to the public that a company is trying to solicit donations for an unapproved campaign, claiming to be in support of law enforcement.
Sheriff Ricky Adam tells The Sun Herald someone is calling people and claiming to be with the sheriff’s office. He says the caller is trying to get money for a so-called “Support the Blue” fundraiser.
Adam says the supposed fundraiser is not a part of the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.
