Morning shooting in Crockett County under investigation

CROCKETT COUNTY, Tenn. — The Crockett County Sheriff’s Department says an investigation is underway into a shooting on Tuesday.

According to the Sheriff’s Department, around 10:48 a.m., dispatchers received a call of a person being shot near the Crockett Mills area, for reasons that are still under investigation.

The Sheriff’s Department says law enforcement officers and EMS responded to the call, however the subject drove himself to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

At this time, no further details have been confirmed by authorities. We received multiple reports of numerous law enforcement vehicles traveling in the Jackson area on Tuesday morning, however it’s unconfirmed at this time if the law enforcement presence was related to that incident.

The Sheriff’s Department says this is an ongoing investigation, and investigators are working to gather all of the facts in this case.
