2nd Annual Tacos, Tecates & Scholarships fundraiser coming to Skillet Junction
JACKSON, Tenn. — An upcoming event in the Hub City will raise proceeds to help with local students’ scholarships.
According to a press release from Jackson State Community College, the Second Annual Tacos, Tecates & Scholarships fundraiser will be hosted at Skillet Junction on October 12.
The public event will take place from 6-9 p.m.
The release states all proceeds raised from this event go toward the Tacos, Tecates & Scholarships fund to support Jackson State Community College through Foundation scholarships.
According to the release, the JSCC Foundation was able to raise nearly $30,000 in total scholarships and student relief last year.
“Last year, our community made this event a great success and raised almost $3,000 in scholarships for our students. We’re hoping to see even more community support and money raised for our students this year,” said JSCC Foundation Director Lindsey Tritt. “Tacos & Tecates is open to the entire Jackson and West TN community. If you’re looking to have a great time, and help the next generation of college students, this is an event you won’t want to miss.”
During the event, there will also be music and salsa dancing, with salsa lessons provided by JSCC faculty.
