Train carrying coal derails in Spring City
SPRING CITY, Tenn. (AP) – A train carrying coal has derailed in Spring City.
Local news outlets report that the incident occurred Thursday night near Highway 27.
Dozens of boxcars carrying coal overturned, spilling large amounts of coal as a result. The crash also took out some power lines in the area.
Injuries have not been reported.
The cause of the derailment is under investigation.
