Weather Update: 9:30 PM

Rain showers are slow to move out of West Tennessee tonight. Still have quite a bit of moderate to heavy rain in some locations. The severity of the storms is low at this point. There is not any lighting in the West Tennessee area but it’s, again, still dumping quite a bit of rain. The showers will continue to taper off as we go into the overnight hour and get a brief break in some of the rain before more arrives Saturday. Currently skies are overcast for those not seeing rain and temps for everyone are in the mid 70s.

Tonight things should quiet down completely by 10 PM if not sooner. Additional overnight showers are possible. Mostly cloudy to overcast skies stick with us tonight and temps fall into the low to mid 70s. The chance for rain doesn’t back down this weekend either.

This weekend, both days have the chance for additional showers and thunderstorms to set up. Within the thunderstorms an additional 1″-2″ is possible during each round of rain. Flash flooding is the main concern with the slow moving storms. The afternoon hours each day have the best chances for the most activity. Afternoon highs stay below average and in the upper 80s.

Going into next week, temps climb back into the low to mid 90s and the chance for pop-up afternoon showers also stays with us across West Tennessee.
