WEATHER UPDATE- 8AM

We do have a heat advisory for MADISON, HAYWOOD, LAUDERDALE, TIPTON, SHELBY, FAYETTE, HARDEMAN, MCNAIRY and CHESTER counties until 8p this evening.

*A heat advisory indicates that we could see heat index values up to 105° but less than 115°*

CURRENT

Right now in Jackson things are quiet, but that could soon change with the 60% chance of rain or thunderstorms we have forecast for today. Partly cloudy skies are giving us a few peaks at the sunshine before we don’t see it the rest of the day. Thicker clouds coming in from the north will begin making their way into west Tennessee leaving us with mostly cloudy or overcast conditions. We do have a nice cold front pushing through Tennessee right now and with that, we will see a dip in the temperatures and humidity.

Today’s high is 88° in Jackson, but mostly everyone will be seeing those mid 80 and low 90 degree marks. Although we do have a cold front rolling through, we will still have higher than average heat indices for some areas of west Tennessee.

We will hang on to a rain chance over night with those showers dissipating into Sunday morning. There will be a slight chance for some pop-up activity, but not as much of a widespread threat as today is. Tomorrow will be one degree cooler than today with the humidity level beginning to drop. Sunday could actually feel and be more comfortable than today will be.

REST OF THE WEEK

The remainder of the week will be more or so hit or miss as far as rain chances go. Monday should be mostly dry and clear, with the dew point being lower than normal providing a low humidity level. Tuesday through Friday we will return the chance of rain and climb back up in humidity and temperature.
