College students get help with voter registration ahead of 2024 election
JACKSON, Tenn. — The Eric Beasley Foundation, along with the NAACP, has kicked off their voter registration drives for the 2024 election year.
The first voter registration drive was held Tuesday at Jackson State Community College in their Student Center.
The event involved registering the students to vote, gathering contact information, and answering questions.
During early voting, the foundation will reach back out to these students to encourage them to vote and offer rides to the poll.
On November 10, in honor of the freedom our veterans fought for, a voter registration drive will be held at Tennessee Technology, and on November 14, a drive will be held at the University of Memphis Lambuth campus.
All drives will be from 9:30 a.m. to approximately 2:30 p.m.
“These college students are also members of our community and they’re going to be making decisions, important decisions, in the future, and we want them to get started right, and that’s by getting out to vote and making sure that their voice is heard,” said Patricia Beasley, President of The Eric Beasley Foundation.
The foundation encourages everyone who is eligible to vote to do it for family, for legacy and for change in this country.
