Looking for peace, take a walk in the forest

JACKSON, Tenn.—A group of people gathered together for a time of solace and connection.

Restorative Willow conducted a forest bathing or therapy walk this afternoon.

This walk allowed people to slow down from their daily life routine while releasing stress; whether it is in their personal lives or at work.

The meeting place was at the trails near Union University and lasted for two and a half hours.

During that time, adventurers were able to slow down and connect with nature, taking time to connect the body and mind to the sounds of the forest.

“It’s so important because the forest can help us lower our anxiety and reduce our stress level. Being outside makes us feel better and there’s science to back us,” said Nicci Gano, Certified Forest Therapy Guide.

Gano also stated that these therapy options are available at home as well.
