A Christmas light attraction makes its way to a neighboring city
UNION CITY, Tenn. — An affordable holiday attraction is back for one neighboring city.
Discovery Park of America celebrates another year of Let it Glow.
This attraction features Christmas characters from every generation to enjoy the Christmas lights.
The Discovery Park of America’s goal is to top each year.
“It’s bigger and better than ever! One new element that we’ve added to the walk through this year is the settlement area. And we also just opened our newest permanent exhibit ‘Duck Duck Goose: Waterfowl of the Mississippi Flyway,’ and that cabin will be lit open and lit up for Christmas as well, and available for walk through,” said Clare Saum, Director of Discovery Park of America.
There are two options for people to enjoy. One for walking, and another for driving, and both feature 3D glasses to enhance the view.
“The walk through is dedicated on the north side of the park, Mill Ridge, and The Settlement area, and a select few gardens are all lit up for Christmas this year,” said Clare Saum.
During this walk, guests can enjoy the twinkling lights and can meet a special someone.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will be available for photos and visiting on select nights. “During the walk through they’re going to be set up in Mill Ridge in the Chrismill,” said Saum.
If guests get a little hungry during their walk, they can purchase items at one of the new exhibits.
“We have food and beverage available in The Settlement area. We call that ‘Eats and Treats,’ where you can purchase food and beverage every night that the walk through is open,” she added.
The drive through trail is over five miles long.
Drivers can tune in to a special station and watch the lights gleam and glow to the synchronized music.
Guests also have the option of purchasing milk and cookies during this drive.
