A local pastor is recognized with a special award
JACKSON, Tenn.—A local pastor received an award letter this morning for her service to the city.
Destiny Church of Jackson celebrated its 12th year anniversary this morning.
After the praise and worship service, the congregation took time to give thanks and praise to their Apostle Rhonda Pettigrew for her work in the community.
Pettigrew was honored with a letter stating that she was a recipient of the Giraffe Award, an award that honors those who work effortlessly within the community.
Not only is Pettigrew a pastor, but she’s also a stakeholder for I-CARE, which advocates for the community.
“We’re building families. I believe the stronger families will provide a stronger community, and we’re gonna see the impact from our servanthood. God’s gonna get the glory and we’re gonna naturally see what he’s doing in the community,” Pettigrew said.
“She doesn’t do for self gain or for anything but just to be a blessing to the community. So, it’s a blessing to be able to be a blessing to her and especially during their 12th pastoral anniversary,” said Martavis Williams, Pastor of Destiny Church-Brownsville.
Pettigrew has also birthed two churches Destiny Church in Brownsville and Destiny Church of Corinth, Miss.
