2 indicted on child abuse charges related to newborn’s death
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – A Montgomery County grand jury has indicted two people in connection with the 2015 death of a newborn.
The Leaf-Chronicle reports that the jury indicted 22-year-old Rachel Grohmann and 31-year-old James Grohmann on charges of aggravated child abuse, aggravated child neglect and criminally negligent homicide.
The two are accused of abusing and neglecting a child born on Aug. 22, 2015. The indictment states that their actions caused the child to die on Nov. 28.
The Grohmanns were arrested Tuesday and booked into the Montgomery County jail on $200,000 bond. It’s unclear if they have attorneys.
