Angel Tree program ongoing at Tennessee State Veterans Home
HUMBOLDT, Tenn. — Small acts of kindness could have big impacts on the lives of veterans.
The Tennessee State Veterans Home in Humboldt is asking the community to visit their Angel Tree, to help bring happiness to a veteran this holiday season.
World War II and Vietnam veterans are just a few of the over 100 wishes that still hang on the tree, awaiting to be picked by someone who wants to make a veteran feel special and loved this Christmas.
Some of the items on the lists include body wash, electric clippers, watches and even snacks.
“These guys did a lot for our country, and I think it’s time for us to say ‘Thank you,’ and do something nice for them and give them a great Christmas,” said activities director Carol Holt.
For those who cannot purchase a gift, they can donate Visa, Walmart, or Target gift cards to the Veterans home and staff will purchase gifts for them.
The Tennessee State Veterans Home is located at 2865 East Main Street in Humboldt.
