‘Making Strides’ kicks off preps for breast cancer walk
JACKSON, Tenn. — The Jackson Country Club turned pink Thursday for breast cancer awareness.
Making Strides of West Tennessee hosted their kickoff luncheon to start preparing for their walk later this fall.
Breast cancer survivors were recognized and those who attended were able to learn more about the disease and what they can do to help.
“It’s not just a walk — it is a celebration,” said Susan Morris, a seven-year survivor. “So a lot of people who are at the walk are survivors or people who are going through treatment at the time.”
The Making Strides Against Cancer Walk will be Oct. 22 at the Ballpark at Jackson. You can find more information including how to register at their website.
Organizers say that during the past five years they have raised around $300,000 for cancer research.
