Madison Co. Fire Dept. earns improved ISO rating
MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. — Home and property owners in Madison County soon could see lower insurances rates, all thanks to a new rating for the county fire department.
The Madison County Fire Department has lowered its property protection classification from a six to a five by the Insurance Services Office. The ISO is a national service that rates fire departments nationwide on a scale of one to 10.
“Obviously, the lower that number, the better the fire protection services are [and] hopefully the better the premium that the end customer, the end user will receive,” Madison County Fire Marshal Don Friddle said.
The ISO rating is based on three categories — water supply system, communications system and an overall review of the department’s practices and locations.
