Local students prepare for upcoming art and music showcase
JACKSON, Tenn. — Music drives you. It wakes you up, it’s inspiring, and one local school is preparing to warm your hearts.
East Elementary School students were in preparation Monday for the JMCSS Elementary Winter Art and Music Showcase.
This is the district’s third year hosting the event.
This allows different schools to come together for an art show and concert.
The students have worked diligently on their music and are excited to showcase their talent to their friends and family.
“They can do hard things, and so I give them some hard music, and I want them to find a joy in singing and performing that sometimes gets lost whenever you don’t ever get the opportunity to sing and perform,” said music teacher Ashley Roark.
This event will take place Tuesday at Liberty High School. The art show will begin at 5:30 p.m. and the concert will be immediately after.
