Lexington kicks off their Christmas Festival of the Lights
LEXINGTON, Tenn. — One local town is getting into the Christmas spirit.

The city of Lexington has kicked off their Christmas festival of the lights.
Throughout the month of December, residents can make their way down to the court square in downtown Lexington to celebrate the holiday season.
The month-long celebration will include special events each weekend. For example; an ugly sweater contest and a cookie eating competition.

Other activities include light displays, live music, and arts and crafts activities for the kids.
Various vendors will also be available for purchasing unique treats and holiday gifts.
Plus, the ice skating rink has returned this year as well.

“It is $10 and you can skate as long as you’d like. It comes with the skates. The only time we ever put a time limit on it is if we get on a wait,” explained Kristina Anderson. Anderson is the director of the Henderson county chamber of commerce.
The skating rink is open until 8 in the evening, Monday through Thursday, and until 9 on weekends.
