TBI: Man in critical condition after Crockett Co. shooting
FRIENDSHIP, Tenn. — Agents with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation along with local officers are investigating a shooting in Friendship.
The TBI has confirmed that a man was transported to a hospital and currently is in critical condition.
The shooting took place at a home in the 7000 block of Highway 189. Those who live in the neighborhood say the incident occurred around 3 a.m.
TBI agents were seen gathering evidence at the home around noon Wednesday.
One neighbor, who did not want to be identified, said was a scary scene to wake up to.
“I opened the door when I seen all the blue lights, and he was sitting on the front porch over there bleeding like crazy,” neighbor Loretta said. “He’d been shot five times.”
Neighbors told WBBJ the man ran ran to a number of nearby homes to ask for help, and left blood on doors, porches and even his blood-stained shirt in the process.
“I don’t see how he even got up here with that big hole in his side and the way he was bleeding,” Loretta said. “He kept telling them he couldn’t breathe and when he did breathe, blood would shoot out.”
Details are limited at this time. The TBI says the investigation is ongoing and that they will release more details as they become available.
