Single car wreck stalls traffic on McClellan Road

JACKSON, Tenn. — Traffic along McClellan Road in north Jackson was halted for more than an hour after a driver lost control and slammed into a concrete culvert, Wednesday evening.

It happened around 7:45 in the 70-block of McClellan.  Witnesses said the driver suddenly lost control, ran off the road and slammed into the concrete culvert.  The car ended up on its side in the ditch, trapping the driver.

It took firefighters about 20 minutes to free her from the crumpled car.  An ambulance took the woman from the scene.  She was alert and talking with first responders as she was being moved.

Police on the scene declined to comment about what might have caused the wreck.
