Weather Update – 11:00 p.m. Thursday
Showers and isolated thunderstorms will remain possible overnight. Temperatures will drop to the upper 60s and lower 70s by sunrise at 6:18 a.m. Friday morning. There’s more rain on the way this weekend but if you’re sick and tired of the wet weather, there are also some clearer skies coming early next week!
FRIDAY
More showers and thunderstorms are possible tomorrow from morning through evening under mostly cloudy skies so grab the umbrella when you head out! The WBBJ smartphone app has an interactive radar so that you can track the rain near you! Our high temperatures tomorrow may only warm up to the upper 70s and lower 80s – roughly 10°F below our average August highs.
There’s an 80% chance for rain tomorrow and a 40% chance for lightning. Area football fields could be muddy for Week 1 of High School Football in West Tennessee. The concert at Jackson’s AMP at the Market may also have some rain to contend with.
THIS WEEKEND
Scattered showers and thunderstorms will form along a cold front pushing toward West Tennessee on Saturday. Some thunderstorms could be strong especially during the afternoon and early evening. The front is forecast to push south and out of the area on on Sunday morning. This should give us a chance to see the sunset on Sunday evening as skies start to clear out! Cooler and less humid air will start pushing in on Monday and Tuesday allowing temperatures to drop to levels we don’t typically see until mid-September!
