Bolivar councilman establishes scholarship in honor of Kemia McClellan

BOLIVAR, Tenn. — A city councilman has established a scholarship fund in honor of a student gone too soon.

City of Bolivar Councilman Chris Williams announced the Kemia Monay McClellan Memorial Scholarship.

Kemia McClellan was a senior at Bolivar Central High School set to graduate in May 2024, who tragically lost her life in a car wreck in October.

Williams says the fund is now open and accepting donations, which will provide financial assistance to Bolivar Central High School seniors, with the first recipient(s) being from her 2024 senior class.

Williams says you can visit any Centennial Bank in Bolivar, give the teller her name, and they will assist you in donating.

Williams also announced he will donate $1,000 from his City Councilman’s salary to start the scholarship.
